lllusions are a very effective tool with which to share the Gospel, as they grab the attention of the audience and do provide a brilliant hook on which to preach. Jesus used parables to illustrate His message. I proclaim exactly the same message as our Saviour and use similar tools, but with a different label perhaps. I am aware of the views held by some regarding 'magic' but am at pains to stress at every Gospel magic event, that I do not do magic! I only offer puzzles for the eyes. The effects that I offer involve no black arts, but simply the result of much practice and hard work.
That practice and hard work enables me to try to reach the lost for Jesus, using entertaining illustrations, sleight of hand and misdirection. So let me stress that I share the serious objections that any Christian will have, to any kind of black art, ouija boards, séance's and horoscopes, etc and am very careful to ensure that the audience is aware that ONLY GOD DOES MIRACLES!
I offer “Gospel Magic through Illusion” cabaret as a stand alone evening lasting around 60-75 minutes. I use professional stage props and skills learned as a member of Leicester Magic Circle and the Fellowship of Christian Magicians Europe. I do not offer any secular magic shows -- only Gospel magic cabaret.
Gospel magic evenings have tremendous potential to attract the un-churched, as it is possible to entertain folk from all walks of life with a memorable outreach event where they enjoy a magical evening, but in fact they are hearing the Gospel.
Try an evening of Gospel Magic. It's a tremendous way of hearing the great truth of the Gospel message preached in a powerful and entertaining way.
